Admission to Reception Class September 2024

  • Information regarding starting Primary School in September 2024 can be found here
  • Primary school place applications for September 2024 will open online anytime from 1 September 2023.
  • The online admission system will close on the 15th January 2024.
  • The National offer day for Reception places 2024 is the 16th April. Offers will be made by email only.

You can make changes to your application until 15 January 2024 by logging to the Citizen Portal and making your amendments. You must then resubmit your application. Please make sure you receive a confirmation email of these changes.

Special Educational Needs

If your child is undergoing an Education Health and Care Assessment you will still need to complete an application for admission.

Moving school during the year

We have places available across the school - all faiths and non-faith welcome.

Applications for moving during the school year can only be made online using the Citizen Portal.  Once the application has been processed and a decision reached (10 – 15 school days), you will receive an email informing you that your child’s school place details are available in the Citizen Portal.  To view the offer information, you will need to log into the CITIZEN PORTAL > This will advise you of the school place offered to your child and what you need to do next.

Before you fill in your application you should read the information on the Bolton Council https://www.bolton.gov.uk/admissions/moving-school-year as it explains the admissions procedure in full.

Please note if your child has an Education, Health and Care plan (EHCP) you must contact the SEN Team – ea.sen@bolton.gov.uk as Bolton Council do not process applications for school transfer where a child has an EHCP

Applying for a school in another Local Authority

If you are applying for a school place at a school in another local authority, you will need to contact that local authority to find out the process of applying for schools in that area. 

You cannot use the Bolton Citizen Portal to apply to move school places to another area.
